(Manama) – AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH), to provide financial support worth of BD 32,000 to treat hearing-impairment patients through cochlear implants.
The MoU was signed by the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of MKF, Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa and Commander of King Hamad University Hospital Major-General, Dr. Shaikh Salman bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa, in the presence of a number of officials and hospital directors.
Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa highlighted that the initiative comes in line with MKF’s commitment to being socially responsible by providing healthcare services to different segments of the society. Her highness also praised the role of the Fund in leading humanitarian initiatives aimed at helping the local community.
Since its inception, numerous initiatives were implemented by the Fund including donating BD100,000 to Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) Military Hospital to purchase insulin pumps for diabetic children. The Fund also offered four scholarships to students to study medicine and master’s degree, as well as its contribution to the construction of a mosque in Riffa.
