16th edition of WETEX Commences

(Dubai) – H.E. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy opened the 16th edition of Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2014. Sheikh Ahmed, who is also President of the Department of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Group, later-on toured the exhibition and enquired about the products at different stands at the event.
WETEX 2014 has attracted participation from 40 countries, including 28 national pavilions, to date over an area of 1,490 sq. m out of the total display area. A total of 32 federal and local government departments from the UAE are participating at WETEX, which is being organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
The Higher Organising Committee has allocated stands for government departments in nine halls. The three-day exhibition is being held under the theme ‘At the forefront of sustainability’, under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
