US Trade Mission Visits UAE

The US-Arab Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the UAE Embassy Trade and Commercial Office in Washington DC, to bring a delegation of small and medium enterprise (SME) and minority business leaders from the State of Illinois on a trade mission to the UAE. The delegation led by Illinois Congressman Danny K. Davis, is networking with area business leaders and officials to learn about opportunities available in the region, and develop mutually beneficial partnerships.
“We are tremendously impressed with this region and have seen numerous areas that Illinois and the UAE can collaborate on, including rail infrastructure, healthcare, renewable energy and education,” said Congressman Danny K. Davis, U.S. Representative for Illinois’ 7th Congressional District.
Plans for the delegates during the trip include attending an official briefing by the U.S. Ambassador to the UAE, Michael H. Corbin, and meetings with representatives from ADNOC, Etihad, MASDAR, the Ministry of Economy, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and other key business leaders, prospective partners, agents and distributors. “The key to succeeding here,” said Ambassador Corbin, “is optimism, perseverance and patience.” Illinois is home to over 2000 foreign companies and is ranked #1 in the Midwestern United States for foreign investment. The State of Illinois is the fifth largest economy in the nation and is one of the 20 largest economies in the world.
