Nasser 10 football quarterfinals concludes

(Manama) – HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA), crowned the American Team as the champions of the Expats Basketball Championship and the Ministry of Interior Team as winners of the 3ON3 Basketball Championship. Both events held as part of the 3rd Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Games “Nasser 10”. The final matches were witnessed by Mr Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Assistant General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and the Filipino Ambassador to Bahrain HE Mr Alfonso A. Ver and several members of the High Organising Committee and BBA Board.

The American Team won the championship after narrowly defeating the Filpino C Team 91-85, while the Indian Team came third. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior Team emerged 18-11 victors against Nasser 12 Team, while the Hobers finished third. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa presented the winners with their medals and cups in both events, expressing utmost appreciation for the efforts being made by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa said that both events were among the successful of Nasser 10 that represented a great opportunity for expats living in Bahrain to challenge amid exciting environment during the month of Ramadan. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali praised the performances of all the teams participated in the event, stating that the final game between the American Team and the Filpino Team C lived up to expectations.

A group of young Bahraini performers showcased a splendid gymnastic show during the Expats Basketball Championship and the 3ON3 Championship final matches. The performances displayed during the event were greatly applauded by the attending fans who interacted with them.

Quarterfinals of Nasser 10 Concludes

The Quarterfinals of Nasser 10 Football Tournament will conclude today with two matches are set to be held, including the game between Al Nawayef Team and Al Zilzal Team at 9:00 pm, followed by the encounter between Al Fakhar Team and Al Saqr Al Abyadh Team. Both games will be held at the Khalifa Sports City Football Stadium. Al Nawayef were Group 3 leaders after amassing seven points from two wins and a draw. They are the favourites to progress given their star-studded roster, including their captain HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, star players Hassan Al Mosawi, Nayef Al Kuwaity, Ahmed Rashid, Mubarak Salem and professional player Cristian. Al Zilzal. on the other hand, qualified for this round after finishing second in Group 4 with four points. The team have a squad of great players too, including former Bahrain international players Salman Isa, Mahmoud Jalal, Mohammed Sayed Adnan and Ala Hubail.
