(Manama) – Bahrain along with the rest of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-member countries celebrate the Gulf Patient Rights Day aimed to spread the rights and obligations of patients and responsibilities of health-care establishments.
The event aims to enlighten the community about patients’ rights and obligations and the responsibilities of healthcare establishments that will positively contribute in the improvement of the quality of health services.
The GCC countries have always been keen on the exchange of expertise, disseminating the culture of transparency, quality, initiative and innovativeness as well as application of successful experiences.
The event highlights the rights and obligations of patients ensured in the GCC states and to apply these standards in identical urbane, cultured environments.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) decided the formation of a “Committee on the Right to Health” affiliated with the Office of the Ministry’s Undersecretary. The High Committee also decided the establishment of a specialized unit regarding the right to health emanating from the Leadership’s keenness on this dossier in compliance with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Constitution, laws and regulations as well as the convention on universal human rights and international agreements.
