Arab League chief in China for Syria talks(Shanghai) – Head of Arab League, Nabil al-Arabi who has played a key role in mediating the Syria crisis arrived in China for discussions with top Chinese leaders including Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, China’s Foreign Ministry said.
“The two sides will have in-depth exchanges of views on the Syrian issue”, said foreign ministry spokesman Liu Weimin. China will also host Syrian opposition leader Burhan Ghalioun on Sunday, who will meet with foreign ministry officials, Liu said. “China is ready to continue to play a positive and constructive role for the peaceful, fair and proper resolution of the Syrian issue at an early date”, he said.
